Wet Leg dévoile son nouveau single, le palpitant “CPR”

Après avoir lancé leur tournée britannique la semaine dernière avec deux concerts explosifs à la Brixton Academy de Londres, et une performance remarquée au Big Weekend de Radio 1, Wet Leg poursuit son retour en force avec le nouveau single palpitant “CPR”. Titre d'ouverture de leur deuxième album moisturizer (sortie prévue le 11 juillet), “CPR” est l’une des nombreuses chansons d’amour de ce nouvel opus. Pourtant, le refrain de Rhian Teasdale – « Est-ce l’amour, ou le suicide ? » – laisse entendre que ce n’est pas une berceuse pour cœurs fragiles.
Sur un rythme moite et pesant, Teasdale décrit une nouvelle romance avec un détachement cynique et moqueur, avant que le refrain ne déclenche un véritable chaos sonore.
Réalisé par le groupe lui-même, le clip de “CPR” offre un plan-séquence déjanté et frénétique, plongeant dans l’univers des weirdos les plus en vue au Royaume-Uni.
Bien que Teasdale ait auparavant eu une sorte d’allergie à l’écriture de chansons d’amour, moisturizer se définit par son exubérance pure, et elle a fini par trouver ce processus libérateur. Avec moisturizer, le groupe monte le son et signe un disque plus audacieux, plus musclé et résolument provocant.
Avec “CPR", Wet Leg lance une série de concerts au Royaume-Uni, dont Pryzm à Kingston, et une tournée européenne en octobre. Leur énorme tournée nord-américaine de 22 dates, moisTOURizer, démarre le 1er septembre à Seattle, avec déjà plusieurs shows sold out. "CPR" succède au single frénétique et séduisant "catch these fists", qui a déjà été joué en live dans The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon et The Jonathan Ross Show.

Wet Leg announces moisturizer (deluxe), an expanded set that includes remixes from horsegiirL, The Dare and FDC DJs (aka Carlos O'Connell and Tom Coll of Fontaines D.C.); three songs previously unreleased on streaming comprising “hi from me” which was originally only available on the Japanese CD, a demo of “don’t speak” recorded by Hester at her home studio and “u and me at home intro/outro” – the first part of which fans will recognise as the band’s walk-on music. The deluxe album is rounded off with a handful of live recordings made at LA’s The Village studios in 2025.
